The Situation: In Rehab?

Is The Situation from Jersey Shore in rehab?

Conflicting stories began swirling around the web last night and this morning, with TMZ stating that the muscle-bound reality star had indeed sought treatment.

However, his rep tells E! this is not the case.

TMZ, citing sources close to the MTV star, says his hard-partying ways grew worse this season, culminating in the episode in which the gang went camping.

GTR: Is Mike's new routine gym, tan, rehab?

According to the unnamed sources, Sitch recently checked into rehab for substance abuse after realizing his recreational habits had spun out of control.

Sources close to Sitch claim that the Jersey Shore mainstay had been showing signs of substance abuse for a while but "was getting a lot worse" of late.

People noticed he was "acting paranoid" on the set, looking jittery, sweating profusely and acting bizarre ... even for a guy who always is a little bizarre.

However, his rep denies claims that Situation (real name Mike Sorrentino) entered rehab for substance abuse, telling E! News the following last night:

"He has spent the past few weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule."

All that clubbing can be brutal. Situation personally Tweeted "Getting in amazing shape for season 6," and "Don't believe everything you read or hear."

Whether it will involve a sober Situation or not, Jersey Shore Season 6 was recently confirmed by MTV ... and will definitely feature a pregnant Snooki.

Jersey Shore Reunion Recap: An Emotional Situation

Jersey Shore has been in the news a lot lately for reasons having nothing to do with the show, making last night's reunion special feel a bit pointless.

With Snooki pregnant and Mike in rehab, the two top stories among MTV's band of guidos are playing out in real life, not in front of reality TV cameras.

Still, the gang assembled for a postmortem of sorts in the aftermath of the fifth season, which ended last week. And there certainly a lot to discuss.

Jersey Shore Season Five Cast

Highlights from the Jersey Shore reunion special included:

  • Snooki continuing to deny servicing Mike, saying, "If I was that horny, I'd just go to my room and masturbate." Sitch also stood his ground: "I'm not a liar, I'm not. And I'm not gonna be made out to look like one, that's it."
  • Mike was again dubbed the villain of the house, after which he said he felt emotional and left out. JWoww suggested that he apologize for the shady things he's done, but Mike instead walked off set. Way to go man.
  • JWoww convinced him to com back out, and Mike did apologize. Aww.
  • BFFs Pauly and Vinny reminisced about pranks, stalkers and the like.
  • JWoww is still happy in love with Roger Williams.
  • Snooki is, of course, still with Jionni LaValle.
  • Ronnie Magro and Sammi Giancola are no longer in a relationship because their "schedules became hectic." As for who ended it? Mixed messages.

Just a few months until Jersey Shore season six films!

Jersey Shore: Looking to Phase Out Snooki and The Situation?

With Snooki pregnant and engaged (!) and The Situation in rehab, the producers of Jersey Shore are obviously concerned. For the stars, sure, but mostly for the show.

Apparently they are worried the show will lose its edge - being a show about a bunch of drunk, sex-crazed rowdies - and are looking to phase the two out.

Newer, crazier cast members are apparently being sought.

Snooki Promo PicYeah We Got a Situation!

MTV released a statement earlier this week, after Mike admitted his substance abuse problem, claiming it expects the entire cast to return for Season 6.

However, sources close to 495 Productions say the company is quite concerned about the recent events and wants to keep things fresh above all else.

If that means bringing in new JS cast members to help transition the show into a new generation, while still keeping old fans hooked, then so be it.

495 plans to limit Snooki and Situation's roles on the new season, giving the new cast members more screen time instead. Filming begins this summer.

Vinny Guadagnino: Snooki Will Be a Great Mom

Plenty of people are seriously freaked out at the notion that Jersey Shore star Snooki will be raising a child soon, but Vinny Guadagnino is not one of them.

In fact, he's ready to baby proof the Jersey Shore house.

Vin said he'll do whatever he can to help his friend: "We're all family. Whatever she needs. We'll turn the smush room into a nursery and there we go."

In all seriousness, he says Snooks "will be a great mom. She's already drastically changed her life. I think this is a good wakeup call. I think she'll be great."

Getting. It. In.

Now that Snooki's engaged to Jionni LaValle and all, that probably puts a damper on her occasional smush room sessions with Vinny. Probably for the best.

Guadagnino was less in the loop when it came The Situation, who announced last week that he's seeking treatment for his prescription drug problem.

"I don't speak to Mike in general," he admitted. "So I haven't spoken to him. I don't have a sense of how he's doing now. But I wish him all the best."

Guadagnino shot down chatter that both Snooki and The Situation will be phased out of the show given both of their life-changing circumstances.

"I don't know if they will be there or not," he said. "But I have a great feeling that they're both going to be back there and nothing will change."

The Situation: Warned By Jersey Shore Repeatedly About Drinking Problem?

MTV had warned and even threatened to replace The Situation, who's currently in rehab for prescription drug addiction, more than once for excessive drinking.

According to sources cited by TMZ, producers from MTV and 495 Productions sat Situation (Mike Sorrentino) down initially while filming Season 2 back in 2010.

Even on a series revolving around insane partying and banging each other 24/7/365, they felt that Mike's drinking had become a problem for the show.

Mike The Situation Photo

Sitch promised to pull himself together, allegedly, but during Season 3, producers had to speak with him again, this time threatening to replace him.

Mike then showed promise in Italy during Season 4, but once the crew got back to the States for the just-completed Season 5, he was back to his old ways.

Possibly acting more erratic and ridiculous than ever, come to think of it.

This prompted another sit-down and another threat of recasting, but the message got through this time, as The Situation's in rehab and sobering up.

Of course, that now gives MTV and 495 a different problem, given that the premise of the show the cast's insane partying and banging of each other.

Hence the reports that Jersey Shore may be phasing out The Situation (and pregnant Snooki) in the coming season ... which the network has denied.

What do you think? Would you watch JS sans Snook & Sitch?

The Situation: Out of Rehab!

The Situation has been discharged from the Cirque Lodge rehab center in Utah, where he was receiving treatment for substance abuse, according to reports.

Now the real test for the Jersey Shore star ... STAYING clean.

Sitch, a.k.a. Mike Sorrentino, checked in to the famous clinic weeks ago. Clearly he tried to keep it on the DL, but after the story leaked, he admitted he had to "get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion."

Contemplative Sitch

The Situation's drinking problem, while never addressed by the star, was also said to have become a problem multiple times over the course of five seasons.

It's unclear if he's quit boozing for good, but if so, that's going to be quite a twist for a reality show predicated around binge drinking and subsequent boning.

Hence the rumors that Jersey Shore may be phasing out Situation (and pregnant Snooki) after the new season, which they are both set to film this summer.

We know Snooki will cut a bitch if you mess with her kid ... but a pregnant girl in the Shore house? With a sober Mike? Can that really make for quality TV?

Jersey Shore House: Trashed By Vandals!

As if the Jersey Shore house wasn't trashy enough based on its residents, the exterior of the Seaside Heights, N.J., structure has been vandalized repeatedly.

The realtor for Danny's house says hoards of people keep tagging the outside walls with their names and random, lame comments like, "We love you Snooki."

Seriously? You graffiti the Jersey Shore house and that's all you got?

Shore House

The damage at Case de Duck Phone is so profuse that the realtor is forced to repaint the guido STD cesspool ... on a weekly basis. So yeah, it's a problem.

It gets worse, too. People have been stealing roof shingles as souvenirs (?!) and are often caught messing with the front door when the house is vacant.

Local police are on the lookout for nefarious fans of the MTV series, which is set to begin filming again this summer ... when it's no longer their problem.

It's only the realtor's responsibility when the show is NOT in production. MTV and 495 Productions must take care of the property while the freak show films.

As if they don't have enough issues, with a pregnant Snooki, The Situation's drug problem and a general lack of hygiene and human decency in that place.

Vinny Guadagnino on Pregnant Snooki: She's Super-Human!

Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino admits Snooki's pregnancy is not something he saw coming ... and he was shocked ... but hey, he's not about to bash the girl.

“I didn’t expect it. But, obviously, I’m not going to hate. This is real-life stuff,” he said.

Vinny, who is busy promoting his new book, Control The Crazy: My Plan to Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama and Maintain Inner Cool, also praised his 24-year-old roommate’s “super-human” ability to anything ... or anyone. Just kidding.

In all honestly, she thinks Snooki will be a great mom.

Snooki and Vinny Picture

“She can do extraordinary things,” he said. “In a partying way, she can drink more than anyone I’ve ever met; she can stay up for longer periods of time. She’s super-human. If she applies that to her parenting, she’ll actually be a good mom.”

“She’s like a human I’ve never encountered before,” he added.

That's high praise ... mostly. We think.

Meanwhile, Vinny is also opening up about his battle with chronic anxiety and depression, which caused him to briefly leave Jersey Shore during Season 5.

“I have generalized anxiety disorder,” he told Celebuzz. “It can be a panic attack. But what really bothers me, like you saw on the TV show, is, it can put me in a funk. It kind of disconnects me from everything around me."

"It’s just like a general depressed feeling.”

Exacerbating those feelings, Vinny Guadagnino says, was the Jersey Shore house’s party atmosphere, which he defends as more stressful than one thinks.

“People who might say, ‘Oh, all you do is party and have fun; how can that make you anxious?’ don’t get it,” he said. “We’re kind of stuck in a little bubble."

"You don’t want to be stuck when you have anxiety. You want to have your friends and family around. You don’t want to be on camera 24 hours a day.”

“You start to feel inadequate,” he continued. “Everybody else is having a good time and you’re like, ‘Damn. What’s wrong with me?’ It makes it worse."

"I made it through four seasons fine, so I was more upset with myself.”

Vin, of course, wasn’t the only cast member to battle personal issues. The Situation was in rehab for prescription drugs - which Vin never saw coming.

“He was just being Mike,” he said. “I had no idea - honestly. That’s his personality. I never say anything bad about him.”

Snooki and JWoww Trailer: Released, Ridiculous!

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley will soon be back for a new MTV spinoff, documenting their transforming lives away from Jersey Shore.

In the first trailer for Snooki & JWoww (reportedly titled Snooki & JWoww vs. The World, according to some sources), the BFFs decide to move in together.

Shortly after they find an apartment, however, Snooki tells her roommate the news that shocked the rest of us as well: "I'm pregnant and engaged."

JWoww then accompanies Snook and Jionni LaValle to her first ultrasound appointment, where the spawn of Snooki makes his or her reality TV debut in utero.

"Honestly I really didn't know that I could make a baby," Snooki says, "so the fact that I can reproduce is very scary." That's putting it mildly, girlfriend.

Though Polizzi's life took an unexpected turn, friends are forever. "I would die for you," she tells Farley. "But let's just make sure that doesn't happen."

While they're ready to take the next step with the men in their lives (JWoww is still with longtime BF Roger Williams), they're looking at this as a last hurrah.

"Me and Jenni have the rest of our lives to stick our heads up Jionni and Roger's asses," Snook says. "This is the time for us to enjoy life as best friends."

Snooki: Evicting Herself From Jersey Shore House!

Snooki is not quitting Jersey Shore, but she is evicting herself, so to speak.

She'll no longer be living in the same biohazard cesspool of disease as the rest of the cast, as she's secured her own private place nearby.

The expectant mom is taking her pregnancy seriously, choosing to live NEAR the Jersey Shore house rather than IN it for obvious reasons.

Snooki Highlights

Surrounding yourself with drunken, loud roommates while pregnant? Not the best move. Surprisingly, Snooki realized this! Amazing, no?

Due in early fall, filming this summer for Snooki will mean she'll be in prime popping position. All the more reason to have a pad of her own.

Between this and a sober Situation (who just got out of rehab), it's shaping up to be the lamest, and possibly last, season of the Shore.

Who wants to see adults making mature decisions?! That's what her new reality show is for. Speaking of, watch the Snooki & JWoww trailer!

The Situation Speaks on Rehab, Recovery

When Jersey Shore returns this summer, it'll be a very different Situation.

Now on the road to recovery, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is opening up for the first time about his stint in rehab earlier this year in an interview.

He comes clean in the sit-down about the root of his problems.

Sitch-uation

"My addiction was prescription painkillers. At first, I thought it gave me energy, helped me," he tells MTV. "Being in this business is not easy. I made a mistake by picking a substance over what I previously chose, which is fitness."

Mike adds that he never had a problem with alcohol or cocaine and even says he was barely drunk on the show ... a dubious claim, but still.

"You can't get girls if you can't speak to them," Situation says.

Mike says despite some of their epic fights, the cast has all been supportive: "At the end of the day, all the kids care for each other," he says.

Sitch says he will be back this summer and fist pumping like a fiend at Karma. As for his pregnant co-star, Snooki's getting her own house.

The zombie apocalypse may be nigh. The musical apocalypse too, apparently.

Ronnie Magro from Jersey Shore has officially made his debut, releasing his very own single, and while it's as bad as you think (if not worse), it's anti-DUI at least!

The single is called "How The F%#k We Gettin' Home?!” The lyrics include: "We don't take it easy / So someone take my keys please / I don't think I'm able to drive."

Deep, profound stuff right there. The official version hasn't leaked yet, but here's a short video of the guy from LMFAO rocking out to it at a club. Seriously:

Jersey Shore Shark Attack Trailer: The Worst (Best) Film of All Time?

Jersey Shore is all the rage these days. Ditto shark attack movies.

With that in mind, the geniuses at Syfy decided to blend the two phenomena, and the result is this amazing cinematic achievement premiering June 9.

The title Jersey Shore Shark Attack really speaks for itself, but you need to watch the trailer below to see Garden State preparing to be eaten alive:

Syfy's hilariously official synopsis for the movie - which even features a cameo from Jersey Shore's own Vinny Guadagnino - is as follows:

"Many years ago, hundreds of locals and tourists were massacred by giant man-eating sharks in the infamous 1916 Jersey Shore attacks."

"But that's just a legend... or is it?"

"It's a holiday weekend on the Jersey Shore and, unbeknownst to anyone, underwater drills have attracted dozens of albino bull sharks to the pier."

"When a man goes missing, TC (The Complication), Nookie and friends fear the worst and plead with the police chief to close down the beach."

"It isn't until a famous singer is eaten alive during a performance on the pier that a shark hunt begins. Now, the Preppies must work together with the Guidos in order to save the Jersey Shore and its inhabitants from another vicious slaughter."

Snooki: Moving Back Into Jersey Shore House After All?

The cast of Jersey Shore - pregnant Snooki included - was spotted Thursday by celebrity gossip photographers moving back into the Seaside Cesspool.

Does this mean she's having a change of heart about getting her own place?

The baby-bumpin' poof-head says she has no plans to stay in the house, but reports and pics from the scene say otherwise. So what's the deal?

"You know how they have to make it look for editing," a source said.

Snooki Hair Highlights

"What they will probably do is have her there for a day or two. But then she'll move into the new place. Trust me, she will not be living in that house."

A source told us not even two weeks ago that Snooki will likely live in a nearby house in Seaside Heights, N.J. Close enough to hang out, but away from the epicenter.

She has repeatedly said that the house is no place for a pregnant woman. Or anyone who values their health or brain cells even a little bit. Smart.

Snooki, who's pregnant with a boy, is due in September.

Jersey Shore Cast: ALL Sober in Solidarity With Snooki and Sitch?

$

Is the Jersey Shore cast, which just started filming Season 6, staying off the sauce to stand in solidarity with pregnant Snooki and newly-detoxed Situation?

The gang hit up a bar last night in their first outing of the summer, and while Sitch was there, he reportedly didn't have anything to drink. Willpower, dog!

The Situation has said he was not in rehab for alcohol, but his trip to Cirque Lodge was indeed for both prescription drugs (which he admits) and alcohol.

The Jersey Shore Cast Photo

The crazy part is that not only did The Situation (and a pregnant Snooki) abstain from alcohol, the entire cast did as well, in an apparent show of support.

Very cool of them if so, but obviously it's a huge contrast from prior seasons.

After all, this crew is famous for a show revolving around getting drunk and hooking up, and makes you wonder if the show has lived past its shelf life.

Incidentally, they went to the bar where Snooki got punched in Season 1.

L.A. Kings Fans Use Giant Jersey Shore Cast Member Heads to Taunt Visiting Devils

Some hilarious L.A. Kings fans who didn't mind pissing off the people behind them found a great way to get in the heads of the New Jersey Devils last night.

Right behind the visiting Devils bench, the hockey/MTV fans held up enormous cardboard cut-outs of the heads of some of gang from MTV's Jersey Shore.

Photos showed blown-up heads of The Situation, Pauly D, JWoww and Snooki right behind the bench as the surging Kings whomped visiting Jersey, 4-0.

We give all the credit to these clowns:

While the Garden State boasts American pop cultural icons like Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra and Jon Bon Jovi, clearly there's not a lot to mock there.

The Jersey Shore cast, though? Ridicule away.

Of course, none of the Devils coaches or players are from New Jersey originally and 18 are not even American, but nevertheless, nicely played, fans.

Snooki Moves Out of Jersey Shore House ... to House Next Door

Snooki isn't taking any chances with her unborn child.

The Jersey Shore star is, as reported, moving out of the Seaside Heights cesspool we know and love and into a love shack of her very own.

RIGHT NEXT DOOR to her old stomping grounds.

The mom-to-be is taking her pregnancy very seriously, choosing to live next to the gang rather than with them because of her loud roommates.

Snooki, Jionni LaValle

The baby will be the first for Snook and fiance Jionni LaValle.

Loud is one word for them. Fortunately, Snooki isn't moving far - her new pad is a cozy single-family home directly adjacent to the house.

It rents for around $2,000 a month. Can you imagine going on vacation to the beach and finding out you'll living there during filming??!

Snooki's baby boy is due in early fall, so she could give birth this season if he arrives any earlier. In other news, The Situation is sober too.

Times they are a-chagin' in Seaside.

Deena Cortese: Arrested For Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness

Deena Cortese of Jersey Shore was arrested Sunday afternoon for disorderly conduct after getting drunk and "slapping cars" that were driving by.

Police chief Tommy Boyd told NBC 4 New York that one of his officers arrested Snooki's BFF after seeing her "a little intoxicated" on the street.

The officer, patrolman Chris Linnel, allegedly spotted her in the middle of a street, trying to swipe at cars that were driving by for some reason.

"Nothing major, but we can't put up with it," Chief Boyd stated.

Deena Nicole Cortese, Parents

He said that the star, often referred to by her full name Deena Nicole Cortese, was arrested and taken to the Seaside Heights police station.

She was served with a summons and released; no bail needed.

Deena Cortese's parents came to get her, as you can see in the photo above, as did JWoww and several other members of the MTV show.

The show is shooting its newest season, which features a pregnant Snooki and a sober Situation. Clearly the others are imbibing, however.

Seaside Heights police run into the gang quite a lot, but Chief Boyd quickly added, "We don't treat the cast differently than anyone else."

The Situation: Taunted For Not Drinking at the Club!

$

Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is being taunted at clubs for being sober as he films Season 6 of the MTV show, reports say.

It was a wild weekend for the cast - Deena Cortese got arrested on Sunday for disorderly conduct - and the gang also got into a big bar fight.

But The Situation, who checked into rehab earlier this year because he was battling a prescription pill problem, is battling some issues as well.

Sober Situation

Sitch denies he has an alcohol problem, which has been widely reported, but whether he does or not, he hasn't been drinking in Seaside.

That's been fodder for the peanut gallery every night of the week.

"Mike has been consistently taunted by other club goers for not drinking," a show insider says. "[Situation] has been handling it pretty well but it does get embarrassing and awkward for him to consistently be harassed for it."

"Mike was being heckled Friday before the fight broke out. It's been harder for him to deal with because his sobriety is still rather new. However, Mike absolutely hasn't been drinking or taking pills and is committed to sobriety."

At the same time, "Mike isn't going to stay home and not go to clubs."

Interestingly, despite their lengthy and at times violent feuds, Mike and Snooki, who's pregnant and sober, have found common ground.

"Don't be surprised if you see Mike spend a lot of time at Snooki's beach house," where she's living apart from the cast, the source said.

"Snooki has actually been very supportive of Mike and what he's going through; the two are working on mending fences in their relationship."

The two fought constantly last season over whether Mike saw Snooki nude or not and whether he should tell Jionni LaValle about it.

Jersey Shore Cast: BALLING After Inking New Contracts

$

With this much cash money flowing in, it's amazing the Jersey Shore cast still does its own laundry to go with all that hardcore gym and tanning action.

The roving gang of hooligans from Seaside Heights, N.J., were angling for an $10,000 a season not so long ago. Nowadays? Chump change.

The Situation, Pauly D and Snooki are each taking home $150,000 per EPISODE, according to a new report ... or $1.8 million per season. Man.

Hey, advertisers pay MTV big bucks because you love to watch Deena and Snooki nude and making out. Don't hate the players, hate the game.

Jersey Shore Cast Pic in Italy

That's not including a reported $400,000 signing bonus they got at the beginning of the season, or additional money for reunion specials, etc.

The rest of the cast isn't doing quite that well, but JWoww still brings in about $100,000 per episode and Vinny Guadagnino makes $90,000 per.

Sometime lovebirds Ronnie and Sammi each bring in about $80,000 per installment, while newcomer Deena Cortese earns $40,000 an episode.

Must suck to make that much less than your colleagues, but $40,000 a week to get wasted, flash your kooka and get arrested in mid-day?

That's good work if you can get it.
